I set the last piece of pancake on the porcelain plate along with a jug of orange juice on the dining table when I hear giggles from Abby’s bedroom.

“Gotcha!” Veronica shrills catching Abby’s little arm and carries her to the dining table. “Is our princess ready with the song she is going to perform at the annual school function?” Veronica asks Abby in her happy voice.

“Yes, mama, Allesandro helped me to practice the song several times. Now I am perfect at singing it.”

I take a sip of orange juice from the glass resting on the table and ask my daughter. “Who is this Alessandro, princess?”

After the recent expansion of my business in the shipping industry, the work at the office had been quite hectic. We are still in the process of hiring employees. I started coming home late but thankfully Veronica takes care of everything concerning Abby.
