Emmeline followed his instructions to the letter and the yacht’s engines rumbled to life.
A wide smile spread across her lips.
She raised a hand in an exaggerated air hostess motion. “Captain Emmeline Lawson wishes you a pleasant journey aboard La Rosa!”
When Zavian didn’t respond, she turned to him with a disapproving look. “You have to say ‘aye aye, captain.’”
His hands found her waist, squeezing almost furiously as he growled, “I’m forty-three years old.”
Emmeline pursed her lips in displeasure until they turned white from the pressure.
After a beat, Zavian bent down to murmur in her ear. “Aye aye...captain.” he relented.
A shudder raced through her at the intimate, heated tone. How did he make such a childish phrase sound so sensual?
“Don’t move the wheel, we’ll go straight for now. If you want to increase speed, push both throttles forward together.”
