Emmeline felt her heart pounding when Zavian’s intense gaze briefly met hers. There was something dark and hungry in those piercing eyes that made her stomach flutter with unexpected butterflies.

She had to hide her excitement from Yuna, who was clearly starting to look annoyed by this whole ridiculous game.

“Of course Richard would never agree to me kissing another man,” Emmeline thought to herself. But the moment she locked eyes with her husband, disappointment washed over her.

“If I quit the game, I won’t have to kiss Mr. Blackthorn, right?” she asked with a hint of pleading.

Richard furrowed his brow disapprovingly. “You want me to kiss him instead?” he questioned with a forced smile. “Come on, babe, I don’t want us to get kicked out because of you backing out.”

Emmeline felt a pang of guilt when she glanced at Yuna. “But Yuna will be so upset if I kiss her husband right in front of her,” she said quietly, trying her best to sound conflicted. “You’r
