Chapter 87. Alpha Lucien Arrives

Alder’s POV

Lucien was dead, and he was sure of it.

The air reeked of sweat, blood and the sweet smell of carnage. Alder barked orders at his men, his eyes narrowed as his sharp gaze pierced through the smoke and landed on his rival, his adversary, Marcus.

Alpha Alder stood at the rear end of the line, his teeth bared as his rage threatened to boil over. All of this was going badly for him, and he knew that. He had expected his plan to work, but it had backfired instead.

He was just glad that he was smart enough to have some guards stay back at the castle, or else, most of his men would have been killed.

The din of the ongoing battle sounded in his ears like war drums. He stood tall at the rear of the line. He needed his soldiers and wolves to see him, to know he was there for them.

Around him, his most trusted elders barked orders at lieutenants, their large bellows were drowned out by the chaos of battle and the screams of the dammed.
