Chapter 46

"Well, well... look at who it is. The foolish wolf who couldn't shift..." Tommy was startled when he heard the gratingly familiar voice utter something behind him. "An orphan peasant, a weak werewolf who could not shift, and a dead man walking." The massive hunters mumbled, despite the fact that Tommy's back was stiff. He pushed himself to stay cool, raising the mug to his mouth and taking another swallow. He didn't even bother to turn around to look at them.

They approached from behind him, three pairs of feet on the ground. The vampire hunters were able to sneer while their hands were on their daggers. One took a booming stride, as if he were wearing a pair of enormous iron shoes. Although equally negligent, the second was less hindered by his surroundings. Unlike the others, the smaller one was nearly imperceptible, his slow footfalls only becoming more noticeable as he and his companions ringed Tommy at the far end of the bar, entrapping Tommy on the table.
