Aiden sighed deeply. Several days had passed since the Schmidt clan attack, and he had rarely seen his master since then.

“Aiden, I made some cookies for you. Since I thought you didn’t like sweet things, I made them low in sugar.”

“Low-sugar cookies? Pfft, cheap!” a woman clicked her tongue disdainfully, then turned to Aiden with a playful smile and a wink. “Take mine instead! I made a food pack, just for you.”  

“He rarely eats! Of course, my cookies are better!”

“No, the packed lunch!”
