Chapter 62. Request

ADELINE’S POV

After two weeks of Adrian complaining and complaining about Xavier, after two of not seeing Dante or being in contact with him, after two weeks of not speaking to Liam because I now have five patients to deal with simultaneously, Adrian finally got over Xavier and got a new guard.

He promoted one of his other guards to a higher position but it’s pretty clear no one can take Xavier’s place. Adrian hasn’t stopped looking for Xavier’s body though and it ha made him so paranoid that he has had guards following me up and down, left, right and center and that’s exactly why I haven’t been able to spend time with Dante.

We’ve only been talking via our phones and I’ve been keeping him updated on everything. I think I’ve gained Adrian’s trust because he can’t seem to take his eyes off me lately. He’s been gentler with me and he has been telling me everything about work.

I even got Martha to warm up to me. Now all I have to do is ask Adrian to show
