Chapter 205. Keep It, Or...?

Zac let out a slow, shaky breath, running a hand through his hair. His reaction wasn’t immediate, but she could see the weight of the news sinking in. 

His jaw tightened, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed.

Anna couldn’t tell if he was relieved or terrified, or both.

“You’re sure?” he asked, though the test in her hand was proof enough.

She let out a humorless laugh. “Yeah, Zac. I’m sure.”

Silence stretched between them, heavy and suffocating. Then, Zac stepped forward, his eyes searching hers. “Anna…” He exhaled. “What do you want to do?”

The question hit her harder than she expected. What did she want to do? Keep it? Get rid of it? Could she even handle either option?

But if she was being honest, getting rid of it seemed harsh. It seemed unfair. The baby didn’t do anything and didn’t have to be punished.
