Chapter 36. Her Words

I look at her, and fear builds within me. I'm scared she will leave me. I don't care what she does as long as she stays.

“Don’t leave me. You don’t have to marry me or agree to have kids. You can have other men; just don’t leave me.”

Her hands stroke through my hair. “I only want you and don’t plan to leave you, Dario. I agreed to have a baby, remember?”She looks at me, waiting.

She didn't choose. She felt she had to agree. “You didn’t want to though.”

“I did. I’m scared something bad will happen again, Dario. Actually, I'm fucking petrified, I can't go through that again." Her head drops, lifting it. I look at her.

"You can't be sure. Even if you kept me locked in a room, something could happen. I'm sorry, I should have just told you. Dario, I want a baby with you; I'm just scared." I pull her closer to me.
