Chapter 30. You're Safe in My Arms
I say my prayers at the church. Aaron has been always by my side even when we were in public. He never left my hand alone, even if it was sweating profusely.
I was dealing with the wine and it's offering as a ritual when the church seemed suddenly dark and empty. Aaron looks around to see why the lights have been cut off.
"Aaron..." I call softly, terrified.
"It's okay, it's alright. I'm right here." He says, I begin to pat around and feel his hand but I fail terribly.
Once I feel his back, I hear the thunder clap out of the blue.
"Hey, hey. Shush. I'm right here." It was a bad idea to come and offer the ritual wine when it was dark as hell outside. It was only seven in the evening, yet it was pitch dark because of the unstable climate.
"Come with me. We can leave them here. Do you have the keys?" He asks as I hum softly. The keys are in my hands, for the car.
