Bernard tilted his head towards the bouquet in his arms and grinned as Marissa realized what he meant. 

“You sent the flowers? You were the one who paid handsomely for express delivery?” she asked as she stopped abruptly, putting her fists on her waist.

“Errrr Yeah. I didn't know what I was expecting but it’s certainly not that killer glare you are giving me right now” he said with a sheepish smile.

“Why would you do that when you were going to show up anyway? I get that you have a lot of money but do you have to waste it like that?” she scolded.

“I have no idea why this conversation warms my heart so much. Could it be because you are acting like a typical wife who is concerned about her husband’s finances?”
