"I certainly did not hear you mention that he belonged to another father. I am sure I would have remembered such little details," the man was saying as he slung his arms across his wife's waist.
"That was because such a thing never happened," the woman replied seriously "This young lady seemed to be so sure, though. Wait, how many times have I heard that word "Bastard" from her today? Ten times?" She tilted her head as if she were trying to remember.
"No, my dear. It must be closer to five; yes, I think I got it right: Five times or more. Certainly right," the man affirmed.
"How sad that a stranger knows my son's father more than I do as the mother," she sighed forlornly.
