Chapter 101
They were two kittens, recently weaned. Two beautiful little creatures, with bodies stained orange, white, and brown.
“If no one claimed them at the animal shelter, they were going to sacrifice them. Their mother abandoned them. If you don’t want them, we can take care of them ourselves, but Kaylee insisted that I ask you first. It seems to me that you no longer have a cat.”
Luke was very cautious when speaking, as if he was afraid that I would reject this pair.
“Of course, I would love to keep them!” I responded immediately. “I already missed having a pet. They are beautiful, thank you for thinking of me.”
“I told you she’d like them.” Kaylee smiled, making fun of her husband.
“Why don’t you tell her what the real reason for this visit is, eh?”
Kaylee rolled her eyes and turned to me, blowing her blonde hair out of her face.
“I just want to invite you to dinner, but Mr. Grumpy here says it’s not a good idea.”
