POV: Tamara Pierce
“Open your eyes, Tamara. You must open your eyes. Find your light and be that light.”
A soft voice resonated in her ears — it was calm, like a feather dancing with the wind and lulling it, but her eyelids were weighing too heavy. It was like a sack had been over it — she couldn’t lift it up. Her eyes remained closed as she tried her best to open them, but she was failing miserably.
She wanted to know who it was or even ask her whoever she was, but her mouth was just too dry for her to say a word.
What is happening? Tamara asked herself, but her lips remained motionless.
She felt weak and unmoving.
Tamara could feel the pure confusion and anxiety inside her.
She could still hear the beating of her heart. She could still feel the warmth inside her.
But it didn’t guarantee that she was fine — she might be but slowly deteriorating.
