Chapter 54
At first, Ash was angered by the looks they were getting when they reached the underwater city. Tonners were whispering and staring, not caring that he could hear them. His anger faded when he remembered that he was a masculine figure, and that was new for any of them.
Fear soon overtook his thought process. What if everything Tonsil had said was the truth? The prophecy? What if Myan really was going to be a sacrifice?
“How much longer?” He grunted, clenching his fists and squeezing his face into a frown.
“You don’t have to worry, we will get there just in time.” Tonsil read his mind and placed one hand on his shoulder to calm him.
“I don’t need your words of comfort.” He slapped her hand off. “Nothing can cause me to worry because I wouldn’t let anything happen to her,” he said with assurance.
Tonsil shook her head a little with a sigh, not uttering any more words.
