BELLA
I so badly wanted to ignore the text, but couldn't. I knew they had the right to call me for themselves whenever they wished. I had, after all, signed a contract with them, and signed my body off for 60 days. 57 when you exclude the past three days.
“Baby girl?” Chris called out to me, hurrying over when she saw me standing in front of the office door, looking a bit lost. “Why is your face like that? Don't tell me that bitch visited you?” She narrowed her eyes as if Imelda was there with us.
“No, that's not it.” Compared to the monsters waiting for me, Imelda was nothing. But there was no way I could tell her about it. “I'm afraid I won't have lunch with you today. I have —”
“But you promised! I turned down all the guys who wanted to have lunch with me. You must go with me!” She protested like a kid, folding her arms with a glare levelled solely at me.
I felt bad about it, but I knew there was nothing I could do. Should I ignore
