Chapter 129
Zachary and Rocco sprinted down the corridor. Earlier, they had been overwhelmed by underlings, and Marcus decided to remain behind to battle, helping them in their escape. He was prepared to make that sacrifice for their mission, and Zachary eagerly anticipated their reunion.
As Zachary stood at the end of the hallway, he noticed an underling, the youngest he had encountered, sporting black hair and the most radiant blue eyes. He might have referred to him as an underling had he not detected his scent on the battlefield the day before. He was a disguised creature of the Shadow Realm, which rendered him perilous.
"I will take care of this, my king." Beta Rocco raised his voice and moved ahead. "Rescuing the queen is the top priority at this moment, and that is what you must focus on."
"Exercise caution and do not underestimate him. The smallest of the creatures pose the greatest threat."
"I will not," Rocco declared.
