Chapter 93. The Vampire King
Sometimes she pressed her palms to her ears, trying to block out the sorrow in his howls. But the truth was, she always heard it anyway. It bled into her dreams, clawed at her resolve, whispered at her walls: “He’s breaking, just like you.”
Darach rarely came close to her. The last time he had tried to touch her stomach Rome had gone berserk on him. Darach hadn’t fight back.
He had just let Rome beat the shit out of him. But throughout the fight, he had smiled at her as if he was relishing the pain. Which had irked Amber. What was he trying to prove? No amount of physical pain was enough for the emotional distress he had caused Amber.
Even now he was just standing there, staring at her silently.
“You know he stares at you when you aren’t looking. It creeps the hell out of me even thou I’m not the one he stares at.” Rome whisper yelled.
“He stares at me even if I’m looking at him.” Amber mumbled.
