Chapter 92. A Private Chat with Dr Arnold

Dr. Arnold visited that evening like he had promised and started checking Landon’s vitals.

“Dr. Arnold, could you ask everyone to exit the room, please?” Landon whispered to him as he bent over him to check his heartbeat with his stethoscope.

“Please, I need to ask, Landon some personal questions,” Dr. Arnold said, looking round the room at the faces looking at him expectantly. He hid his curiosity well. Why did the young boy want to speak to him alone?

“Is that absolutely necessary?” Alexa asked, frowning in puzzlement. “we are his family, are f there’s anything the problem, then tell it to us all!”

“Mummy,” Lionel said, looking sad, “Let us respect the doctor’s wishes. It won’t take a moment and then Landon can tell us what they spoke about later if the good doctor decides not to!”

Alexa wanted to protest but Leigh drew her out of the room.

“Be fast!” Lionel said to Landon. “I shall make sure she does not eavesdrop but I don’t know how long I ca
