Chapter 232. Elevator Scene

I bit my lower lip, furious. Ellis was right. I had chances to tell him, but I didn’t because I loathed him and wanted to punish him somehow. It was selfish on my part, but I won’t admit it.

“You chose Ellis, and it wasn’t me. By doing so, you relinquished any rights to them,” I said slowly, looking him in the eye. I glanced at Charlotte, who had a new victorious smile on her lips.

“You shouldn’t have left, and I didn’t choose her!” he pointed at Charlotte; her smile vanished. I saw contempt and annoyance in Ellis’ gaze when he glanced at her.

“You made that choice for me, and you were fucking wrong to do that!” I couldn’t stand the pain in his eyes. So, I did what I did best: walking away. The elevator opened, but Ellis followed me and pushed Charlotte out as she attempted to get on. She was shouting as it closed in her face.

“Jus
