“She’s trying her best but I can see through her,”

“What do you expect, she was a mom, she embraced that part and it’s hard,” Says my mother, drinking her coffee. “ The thing about motherhood is that you love the little pup in your belly without even meeting him or her, you create this picture and a whole future for them. It’s a little early but she will get through this,”

Ever since we lost the baby, she’s been distant, she works harder than usual, smiling and greeting people like all is well and I fucking hate that she has to pretend with me as well.
