Chapter 75. I Don’t Give a Damn About You
June POV
He turns around, and I lift my head a little, meeting his gaze—although he wouldn’t know since my wet hair covers most of my face.
His jaw is twitching. Damn. He must be upset that I’m making a fool out of myself in front of his officials.
“You,” he says, pointing to the side. My eyes follow his hand, and it lands on Amaka.
“Take her to the restroom,” he orders. Then, with that cold voice that makes my stomach clench, he adds, “Tobit, you can let her go.”
“Yes, sir,” Tobias says, releasing my arm. Amaka quickly replaces him, taking hold of me.
I swallow hard, my chest tightening. I thought he’d just pass me like I was nothing, or pretend not to notice, instead… he saw me. He saw all of this mess.
“What did you do this time?” Amaka whispers as we step into the elevator.
I drop my gaze, sighing. “It’s Lia’s fault. I didn’t do anything.”
