Zephyrus’s POV
“Please let Lena stay, Zeph! I can’t spend the night alone here.” I couldn’t deny Hera’s wishes. Alexandrios was busy, and she needed someone who would be there for her. There was no surety about me. With only a day remaining, there was so much preparation that needed to be done. I couldn’t afford to go home and sleep in peace.
“Fine. Call me if you need me. I’m returning to the pack house.” Lena looked stressed by my announcement, and I somehow enjoyed seeing the concern etched on her features. It meant she cared a lot for me.
“How about dinner, Zeph? I know you skipped all your meals today. You can’t fight on an empty stomach, can you?” I grinned at her while she glared at me.
“I would have had if you made it for me.” With a smirk, I whirled around and walked out, leaving her feeling guilty. I really wanted to pick up where we had left off, but maybe not tonight!
