Book 1: Date Night

Lena’s POV

Hazel bundled everyone out before Zephyrus’ return. It puzzled me since I hadn’t informed her about our date tonight. Maybe Zephyrus had. After all, she was closer to him than to me. With no time to spare, I got ready in a black knitted dress, pairing it with a matching jacket, stockings, and boots. These were the clothes Hazel had got for me.

At first glance, I thought they were a waste of time, but now I was thankful to find something to wear for the occasion. I never possessed such fancy clothes in my twenty years of life, surviving on bare essentials only, but tonight was different. Tonight I wanted to look my best. I wanted to dress up for my mate for the first time in my life.

I wished I had some money to buy some clothes for myself and my mom. Maybe I would get a job somewhere before starting my dream venture. It would help me invest too.
