"When do you think they'll open?"

Gabrielle asked for the umpteenth time and Maya rubbed her eyes with the heel of a palm. Most people in the queue had resorted to sitting on the concrete, others had brought sleeping bags and foldable chairs. She flipped her wrist, eyes checking the time on the silver watch,

"In about ten minutes?" 

Gab groaned, falling back on the floor and grabbing the roots of her hair, "I don't think I can stay out here for another five minutes."

Maya snorted, shaking her head in amusement, "We've been here since last night, what's five minutes more?" She handed Gab the flask in her hold which she gratefully accepted.

"My ass is freezing, bitch," Gab grumbled under her breath, gingerly taking a sip from the flask.
