Chapter 81. I'm Going to Save Her
Doris hadn't realized how hard she was breathing until he stopped talking. The room echoed with every breath she took and she knew she must have sounded like a dying animal to him. He forced her to sit up a little more before she relaxed in the cold water. How long until it boiled from how hot she was?
William frowned and used a small towel to wipe some of the excess water off her face. She didn't want him to touch her, it only made her feel hotter. "You should sit here for a while."
"I don't think I could move if I wanted to." Doris whispered. She closed her eyes and focused on the feeling of his hand as he made sure she didn't slip beneath the surface again. Why was she only feeling worse? After two days, shouldn't she have felt a little better by now?
