Drifa had refused to resurface for so long, kept away, and refused to help me, but this was her breaking point. Not that I didn’t understand her rage, sorrow, and hatred, but now her power surged through me, demanding space and forcing me back. The sensation felt incredibly good; I felt stronger and no longer alone, but at the same time, the twins’ smiles made my skin crawl.
