Chapter 90. Winter’s Story
Lotus’s POV
The world is green again. The Winter Pack is no longer caught in perpetual winter. Spring rolls gently across the valley, painting the once-frozen peaks in streaks of gold and wildflowers. The snow still clings to the higher ridges, a reminder of where we came from, but down here, life hums in color.
Three little voices chase each other through the courtyard, laughter echoing against the marble walls.
“Winter!” I call. “Not too far, sweetheart!”
The oldest turns, dark curls bouncing as she grins at me with her fathers eyes, my temper, and enough power in her small hands to shake the leaves loose from every tree if she sneezed too hard.
She’s six now, though she acts like she’s sixteen.
Her younger siblings tumble after her, twins, born three winters after her birth. Arin, the boy, quieter and thoughtful, always following rules. Lyra, his twin, wild and brilliant, already trying to teach the birds to mimic her laugh.
