Chapter 39

My palms are sweating and I keep on fidgeting on my seat. My heart is pounding non stop. I scanned the room and heaved a sigh.

Everything’s normal, nothing’s wrong. Everyone is fine, minding their own business. I pursed my lips and gazed at Denard, who’s busy typing on his phone.

It was almost an hour after the Montevero brothers left. If no one called on his cell phone, he probably wouldn’t leave.

“Lineah, we need to leave. Now,” he said, then put down the cellphone.

“What happened?”

“Let’s talk about that later.” It grabbed my wrist, I immediately withdrew it.

“I want to know what happened to our Denard plan.”

“We’ll talk about it later, we need to Lineah,” he said.

My forehead furrowed. Letse! Why is Denard acting like this?!

“W-why don’t you tell me? Didn’t it go well—”

“Lineah, let’s go.” He promised emphatically, it squeezed my hand.
