Although Kelman was not greedy about the car, as he could buy as many as he wanted, he agreed because he wanted to get over the obsessive attraction he had for Evana but somehow when he realized that she was lost in the woods that day he couldn't help himself but run after her and then when he found her his heart was thumping fast and he was having all sorts of feeling, which he never felt. And after staying with her in the cave and being close to her he realized that he cared about her. And he wanted to protect her.

 He knew Evana was innocent but he was not ready to tell Nikolas because he never liked anyone gossiping behind his back, even if it was his best friend.
