Chapter 48

Mia will be here at our house, and mom wanted to cook for her, so I helped her prepare.

"Where's Lily?" Mom asks me.

"In her playroom, she's playing with her toys," I said.

"Okay, good. Can you help me set the table, Iris?" Mom asked.

"Sure thing, Mom," I replied as I followed her to the dining room.

Together, we set the table with our best dishes and silverware, making sure everything was perfect for Mia's visit. 

Mom had prepared one of her famous dishes, and the aroma filled the whole house, making my stomach growl with hunger.

As we finished setting the table, I heard Lily's giggles coming from her playroom. I smiled to myself, knowing that she was having a great time playing.

"Everything looks perfect," Mom said, admiring our work.

I nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of pride in our teamwork. I knew Mia would appreciate the effort we put into making her feel welcome in our home.
