Chapter 208. Plans in Motion

It took a while for Chin to finish up her pentagram with Brenner’s help, but complete it she did. Within a few minutes, she had lit and placed the black candles on each major point of the pentagram and had placed the missing former assassin’s platinum necklace in the middle of the inverted star.

“Couno Confundantur Ut Omnes Ad Unum” she chanted ominously over and over, starting as a mere whisper but increasing in volume as she continued to speak. Suddenly a puff of smoke appeared around and above the necklace, then disappeared with a sudden flash of light. At the same second, Aaron’s jewelry reappeared in Chin’s hand, which she immediately clasped around her neck.

Bren watched intently, not out of fascination but in order to give a detailed report to Hiro later. He memorized the unfamiliar words he heard from the damned witch-woman in the hopes to tell The Ogre as much as he can about this spell, which he felt is quite effective and potent… whatever it is.
