My heart started pounding and I was frozen mid-step watching as he gazed out at the ocean. From this distance, I could not tell what the expression on his face was. But instinctively I knew he was worried, probably frustrated as well. If a person could embody something as abstract as a coming storm, Jordan would be the perfect person.

I briefly wondered if I could sneak over to my car and get out of here before he could catch me.

I knew the instant that thought crossed my mind it was a pipe dream because I had a feeling that if Jordan was here, then so was Jack.
