Chapter 43. Bad Dreams
The thing that Andrew liked most about Marie was her gentle demeanor. She had never raised her voice at Andrew from childhood to adulthood. She would gently stroke Andrew's head before advising him. Even as Andrew grew into adulthood, the young man still often rested his head in his mother's lap. He really liked the way Marie stroked his head. The gentle caress instantly brought warmth to his heart.
In contrast to Marie's gentleness and affection, Harris Jonas raised Andrew firmly and disciplined him. Harris did not tolerate foolishness, betrayal, or dishonesty. Despite being very close to Marie, Andrew grew up holding his father's principles.
