"Ma'am, it's not good for you to keep taking these pills," the woman said as she handed me the painkillers. "You've been using them for a long time now, and..."

"And what?" I cut her off. "I'm stressed. Just leave me alone." I paid for the medicine and walked out of the pharmacy.

If they were tired of selling me the painkillers, I'd find another place. I just needed to pull myself together.
