I got home, rushed out of the car and ran inside calling out for Olivia. My worry grew when she didn’t respond, anything could have happened.
Running upstairs and to our room, the sound of the running shower calmed me down a bit, I reached for the doorknob, it was locked.
Knocking on the door, “Liv, you in there?” I called out. The shower went off, I heard the sound of the door click open, and she walked past me wearing one of my white Tees, her fluffy eyes and tear stained cheeks did not go unnoticed.
“Are you okay? Did something happen?” I asked, walking toward her as she sat on the bed.
“Yeah, I’m fine, just tired,” she replied, still avoiding eye contact.
Kneeling to her eye level, “Did something happen at the hospital or on your way home?” I cupped her cheeks, “I’ve been so worried the whole day; I haven’t heard from you.”
