Chapter 24

After having a layover in Singapore, I was on a plane to Rome. I would only spend a night in Rome before taking a train to Naples and crossing to Capri. I had intentionally saved Rome for after Capri and then continued my trip by train to other destinations.

My decision to go to Europe wasn't solely because of Gio's words. When I still had no idea what to do, I went to Bandung to visit Zack's grave and his family. It might sound strange that I still had a good relationship with Zack's family, but we had lost the same person. It was easier to grieve when we shared the grief. Their family had always been welcoming, even after Zack’s funeral.

"Glenn, what are your plans for Europe?" I swallowed my saliva before grabbing a homemade pukis cake from Zack’s mom. "I have no plans to go to Europe for now. From the beginning, it was Zack who planned everything. Because Zack is no longer here, I feel there's no point in going there. It's no longer important."
