Chapter 31
Alan grabbed Susan's left hand and slipped one cuff onto it, threading it through the slats of the headboard. He repeated the process with her right hand. Checking his work, he flashed a grin down at her and dangled the key in front of her face. Raising it above his head, he pretended to drop it into his mouth, then made a show of trying to swallow it with a loud belch.
Susan shrieked, "That's not funny, Alan! You better have a backup key."
"Nah, no backup key, babe. You're stuck until it passes through me."
"I've got nothing to say to you, Alan. You're just a mean, selfish, self-centered brat. You don't give a damn about anyone's happiness but your own."
"That's not true, and I'm gonna prove it with actions, not words."
