“I…” he began, “I truly want to apologize to you.”
“It’s okay, Jae,” I whispered.
“No. I know it’s not. I messed up yesterday. I brought you fear, and I can’t forgive myself for that.”
“I’m not afraid of you. I never was. I acted purely on reflex, it wasn’t intentional.”
“You acted out of fear, Harin. And the only thing I promised you was that you would never feel that fear, and yet, I failed. I made you feel that, and I feel like the worst person in the world.”
“You’re not,” I hugged him on impulse. Jaewon still didn’t touch me, he really seemed to want to avoid me, but I didn’t care anymore in that moment. I just wanted him to understand that it was okay.
