Chapter 41
POV: Jaewon
My hands were trembling, and I couldn’t even disguise it.
I was in the Uber, already spotting my mom’s store, but my stomach churned at the thought of how I would tell her the latest news.
The car stopped, I made the payment, and got out, taking a deep breath as I saw her at the counter, finishing serving a customer.
As I entered, the entrance bell announced my arrival, and as soon as her eyes fell on me, her smile gained an unparalleled glow.
And if the glow of her smile disappears?
I’m so nervous!
I approached the counter, watching her abandon the apron with the store’s logo and quickly run towards me, attacking me in a hug so tight that it warmed me quickly.
“I missed you,” she said, touching my face. “How are you, son?”
My height made my mom look short next to me, so I bent down and smiled as I felt her kiss on my forehead.
“I’m fine.”
