Aria’s POV

There was silence for a while, then I sighed.

“What happened?” I asked. “After I collapsed, I mean.”

Mama Felz leaned back in her chair. “After you did your whole magical healing thing with Knox and passed out, the beast transformed back into Knox.”

She paused, rubbing her temples. “It was like watching someone wake up from a fucking nightmare. One second he’s a raging monster, the next he’s just Knox, looking so fucking confused and covered in blood.”

“And everyone else?”

“Hazel’s in another room,” Mama Felz said. “She took the worst of the magical backlash when the ritual circle exploded. Burns on her hands and face, but she’ll heal. Witches heal faster than humans, thankfully.”

“Hunter? Shawn?”
