Chapter 47. A Stroll with Alpha Rolan

I looked around, my gaze stopping at Hugo, who was as mortified as I was. He nudged me to go ahead since I was innocent, I swallowed and said.
"The innocent is always at peace because he knows that he never committed the crime even though a death sentence is being waved at him. It might sound strange, but Beta Hugo and I aren't having an immoral relationship. He has helped me a few times and that's it, and the night at the field was just a coincidence. I swear that nothing happened." I explained, feeling light headed.
Alpha Rolan sighed, then suddenly stretched his hands towards me, his fingers catching my chin and tilting it up. The urge to shut my eyes and block everyone out from my head saturated my mind, but it would only mean one thing—cowardice.
So I kept my eyes trained on him and waited for him to pass his judgment. For reasons unknown to me, my mind wasn't in turmoil nor was I scared of him.
