Chapter 22. Dear Jessica

"Where's Jessica?"

Mom asked the moment I walked into the house with our lunch.

"She's at mine I dropped her off after picking up our lunch, she said I should be with you until Larry got here and said to bring lunch."

"I'm not hungry,"

"That's what she said to, that's why she sent me here to make sure you eat your lunch."

Mom smiled at me and sit on the dining chair while I plated our lunch and she was telling me that dad was resting in their room, still woozy from the painkiller.

"Jessica, she's nice, so it's official? You're her boyfriend now?"

I stopped and looked at her then nodded plastering a big grin on my face.

"Yeah, I'm lucky that she would have me as hers."

"Right, so...I talked to that nurse Maggie back in the hospital, the one who was with that handsome doctor," she explained trying to remind me, while I still clearly remember the jealousy he made me feel.
