He thought that he would be relieved when he had her back in his arms, but he was feeling rage instead. He knows he would strain the life out of the old man once he found Nestor.

Karla was not showing any emotion, she just stood there in front of him and let him strip her naked. Yegor put her clothes and the dirty blanket in the wastebasket.

At least he was glad that her clothes were still intact, and that she didn't have any trauma when he took them off. Though he did see bruising on her stomach as if she was punched real hard. And the knowledge had just elevated his rage and made his blood boil, shimmering just above the surface.

Darko had offered to have her checked by their doctor, but Yegor was not letting anyone touch her. At least not until the next day. He had made sure that she didn't have any life-threatening wound.
