His eyes sparkled with a hint of humor when I had said 'haughtily,' and they remained playfully fixated on me. "I didn't think you would consider that part," Xavier chuckled softly, his laughter light and breezy. "But I really should have anticipated that your astute mind would catch on to it somehow."
He then diverted his gaze toward the fire beside us, as if lost in thought, preparing to share a story.
"We had to allow some time to pass after our desertion before I could begin devising a plan to rescue you. However, ever since that day I arrived at Thor's house and heard you scream like that," a flash of anger ignited in his eyes, and I noticed his jaw clenching tightly at the memory, "I knew in my heart that I had to save you. I vowed to myself that I would get you out of there if it was the last thing I did. I regret that it has taken me so long, and I'll forever hold myself accountable for not getting you out before—"
