Chapter 12
“Have you calmed down?“
Gently touching his forehead to Aart's, Ziad asked.
Of course, this was only after he realized that the crying of the person in his arms had gone from painful sobs to light sniffling.
Nodding gently, Aart agreed. His eyes were red and slightly swollen, which made his expression look slightly miserable.
Raising his hand, Ziad calmly passed it through the silver strands in a kind of comfort. He felt that the other was not crying just for what happened to him, but for the countless people who suffered what he suffered.
But it wasn't surprising at all, Aart was like that. He felt a lot of compassion and was probably feeling guilty and sad about being alive when so many other people weren't as lucky.
Thinking so, Ziad lowered his head, gently kissing her pink and slightly damp cheek.
‘What do they do with… the parts they steal?’
