Chapter 85. Great Reminder
BACK IN IRELAND
“Aiden, supper’s ready,” shouted an old woman who just finished cooking. She was sweating a lot so she flipped her white hair at the back of her ears. But no one answered.
“Aiden? Come out of your room, your mama will be here soon,” repeated the old lady. But there was no response again.
So she checked on him in the bedroom and what beheld her eyes both touched and hurt her heart.
She saw a five-year-old child soundly sleeping while reading a book. The book fell on his chest.
“Oh, my poor child, holding books instead of toys at an early age,” her heart went out with him.
She stood at the door as she continued to watch over him peacefully. She couldn’t take her eyes off of him when two hands embraced her from the back, “Hi, mama,” greeted Chloe, “Great view, isn’t it?” chuckled Chloe, still hugging her mother.
