Chapter 8

Lilian had gone thirteen chapters when she heard the main gate open. Seemed Damian was home. She walked to her window and saw him get out of the car and walk towards the house. She stared for a while then went back to her bed. She continued to read and listened carefully for any voices or summons from one of the maids to go and see Damian. Soon enough, she heard a knock on her door then someone opened it and came in. It was Damian. What were we doing there?

Lilian looked up from her book and stared at him in confusion. He just stood there looking at her wordlessly. Lilian shrugged him off and kept reading. Maybe he got lost and forgot where his room was.

"You know, my maids greet me when I come in" Damian finally said.

"Well, that's good for you," Lilian said without looking up from her book. She took a cookie from the bowl that was beside her. She got peckish earlier and went down for a snack and brought the bowl of cookies upstairs with her.
