Chapter 21. Quit the Show

Third person POV

Rachel and Martha sat opposite each other in the open restaurants without saying anything.

Rachel's heart couldn't stop beating as she thought of the many things her mother would want to talk to her about. Everything leads back to Lana.

She was very sure that Lana had a hand in this meeting, and what her mother was about to say would prove it.

"Mother... How... How have you been?" Rachel asked hesitatingly before she picked up her coffee, sipping it slowly but shakily.

Martha just stared at her without movement; it scared Rachel even more not knowing what was going on in her mother's head.

"Mum... Please say something." She pleaded keeping down her coffee cup.

"What do you expect me to say?" Martha finally spoke, her tone and attitude cold.

Rachel was taken aback by her mother's cold voice but didn't show it.

"Why are you speaking to me like that... If anything I'm the one who was wronged..."
