Chapter 38. Mom? Dad?

A few hours later, in Alexa's room

A chestnut-brown-haired girl was lying on the bed, looking up at the ceiling, which was invisible, as the only light came from a candle that was only a quarter full. It was so quiet inside the orphanage that even the slightest sound could be clearly heard.

After ten minutes of silence, Alexa was reminded of the parents she had never met, and it was all thanks to the silence. "I want to meet Mom and Dad. Are my parents still alive? Where are they now? Did they ever miss me?" murmured Alexa, holding back a deep sadness.

"If only I could find out what Mom and Dad are up to... but that is impossible. I want to see my parents face. I miss them so much." That young lady began to cry, but not too loudly. After she was done crying, Alexa wiped away the tears that were still on her cheeks as she tried to compose herself.

"I wish I could meet my parents, even if only in my dream. I wonder what they are doing? Are Mom and Dad happy tha
